David joins Hope Manifest after seven years as Director of Alumni Programs at Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. During his Samford tenure, he was responsible for managing alumni programming and events, increasing the Alumni Association's web presence and the use of social media, and for growing University alumni chapters throughout the United States. Leading the work of Samford's alumni officers and board, David grew participation at Samford Homecoming to record levels, developed and introduced Saturday football pre-game tailgate parties, and managed the design and implementation of a new website for the Alumni Association. Mostly, he grew the enthusiasm and pride of great folks in a great University.

Previously, David served as Coordinator of Volunteer Programs with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Birmingham and on the staff of Birmingham's Southside YMCA. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Shades Valley YMCA in Homewood. David is an avid fan of major league baseball, particularly with regard to the Atlanta Braves.

David and his wife Janet are the parents of a preschool-age daughter. They are active members of Baptist Church of the Covenant in Birmingham, where he serves as deacon.
